Western Digital is expected to soon launch an internal hard-disk drive with a capacity of 2 TeraBytes. We have seen bigger drives than these in their external drive series called ShareSpace which has a storage space of upto 4 TeraBytes, but this time its internal drives that are getting bigger.
The 2 TeraByte drive is a SATA II interface drive and a part of their CaviarGreen series. The disk rotates at 7200 rpm and contains 32 MegaBytes of cache. The drive is expected to be launched by the end of this year.
