Western Digial 4TB and 2TB ShareSpace

Western Digial's new external drive called ShareSpace is a Network Storage System or Network Attached Storage (NAS).

The drive comes in 2 TeraBytes and 4 TeraBytes versions and can be configured in a RAID 0, 1 or 5 setup. The hard drives in the ShareSpace uses GreenPower technology which allows them to spin down during less intensive tasks and thus results in power saving.

It features Gigabit networking and transfer rates are five to six times faster than other network storage systems.
Other features include E-mail alert system, Microsoft Active Directory support, Push-button transfer - Plug a USB drive into the front-mounted USB 2.0 port and push a button to automatically transfer all the data on the drive, Automatic network backup software, Remote access software, Download manager, iTunes server support, Built-in FTP server, Three USB 2.0 ports, Power failure protection and Network storage manager.
