Intel to cut Quad-core prices on April 19

Intel has planned to cut the price of four of its Quad Core CPUs on 19 April 2009.

The four Core2Quad processors are based on the newer 45nm technology (codenamed Yorkfield).
Q9300 (2.5 GigaHertz) will drop by $53 from $266 to $213
Q9550S (2.83 GigaHertz) will drop by $49 from $369 to $320
Q9400S (2.66 GigaHertz) will drop by $43 from $320 to $277
Q8200S (2.33 GigaHertz) will drop by $32 from $245 to $213

Intel has also plans to release a new Quad-core chip on the same day and will place further price cuts in the near future.

Intel E7600 Core2Duo CPU coming soon

Intel has planned to launch another processor in its Core2Duo lineup around April, 2009.

The dual-core E7600 is based on 45 nanometer Wolfdale platform which supports MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3, SSSE3, SSE4.1, Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology (EIST), Intel 64 (Intel's x86-64 implementation), XD bit (an NX bit implementation) and iAMT2 (Intel Active Management).

The E7600 is a faster version of E7500 CPU, the new processor is clocked at 3.06 GigaHertz, comes with 3 MegaBytes of L2 cache memory and will cost somewhere around the price of E7500 which is currently at US $133. The Core2Duo series is still very much in demand due to the overly priced Core i7 and we expect more Core2Duo chips in the near future.

MSI has launched a new Wind netbook which has an exceptionally long battery life of 9 hours. According to MSI, this amazing battery life can escalate the mobility and the productiveness of U110 ECO, which can also make your daily lives much more convenient.

The U110 ECO is powered by Intel's Melow platform comprising of the 1.6 GigaHertz Atom processor. It has a memory of 1 GigaBytes which is expandable to 2 GigaBytes. The hard-disk drive capacity comes based on the model ranging from 80 to 160 GigaBytes. The display size is 10 inches and weighs only 1 Kilogram including the 3-cell battery which makes it a very easy to carry netbook.

Asus unveils W90 the World's Fastest Laptop at CeBIT

Asus showcased their new extreme high performance laptop at the CeBIT 2009 Expo held last week between 3rd and 8th March. The Asus W90 beat the overclocking world record with 3DMarks score of 20284 and is dubbed by Asus as the fastest notebook on the planet.

The Asus W90 is comparable to a desktop PC with its ultra high performance powered by Intel's Core2Duo processor and the X38 Chipset. It has a maximum memory capacity of 6 GigaBytes of DDR2 type RAM. With Dual hard-disk drives providing a maximum disk space of 1 TeraBytes
The advanced model of W90 model is powered by Intel's Core2Quad processor. The graphics is powered either a dual graphics ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4870, ATI Mobility Radeon HD3850 X2 or the Nvidia GeForce 9800M GS.
The W90 also delivers astounding multimedia performance, with full HD at 1080p and a wide screen display size of 18.4 inches.

Asus has unveiled their new Lamborghini notebook at the latest CeBIT 2009 expo which was held between 3rd and 8th March.

The Asus Lamborghini VX5 sports a futuristic chassis and is inspired by the 1 million Euros Lamborghini Reventón. The VX5 comes with the world’s largest density Solid State Drive of 1 TeraBytes. It is powered by Intel's Core2Quad Processor and includes 4 GigaBytes of memory. It features a TwinTurbo mode that users can utilize to accelerate CPU and GPU performance via a speed key. It has a massive display size of 16 inches with full high definition display powered by Nvidia's 1 GigaBytes GDDR3 graphics card, the Geforce GT 130M.
