Seagate launches low powered 2TB drives

Seagate has launched a new series of drive called Barracuda LP for desktop computers. According to Seagate, "The new Barracuda LP drives deliver all the benefits of a best-in-class low-power drive—including low-power savings, whisper-quiet acoustics and leading performance."

The Barracuda LP drives are able to run on low power without compromising the speed of the drives with power consumption reduced by upto 44%. The drives are of SATA interface delivering speed of 3 Gigabits per second and have a cache size of 32 MegaBytes.

Barracuda LP drives are available in three sizes - 2, 1.5 and 1 TeraBytes.
