Last month Intel had released two new Dual core processors - E7300 and E8600 codenamed Wolfdale. These two Core2Duo are the latest midrange processors to be introduced for the desktop PC and are based on 45nm technology.
The E8600 is the more expensive and faster processor than the E7300 with twice the cache size at 6MB and more Gigahertz rated at 3.33 GHz.
With Core i7 going to be released soon, many would wait for the new LGA1366 socket. The current mid-range LGA775 processors would meanwhile be a good upgrade for a few months.
Intel Core2Duo E7300 Specifications:
Speed: 2.66GHz
Cores: 2
Cache Size: 3MB L2 Cache
Bus Speed: 1066MHz
Manufacturing technology: 45nm
Socket: LGA775
Power TDP: 65W
Price: $133
Intel Core2Duo E8600 Specifications:
Speed: 3.33GHz
Cores: 2
Cache Size: 6MB L2 Cache
Bus Speed: 1333MHz
Manufacturing technology: 45nm
Socket: LGA775
Power TDP: 65W
Price: $266
